Mission
Raise consumer awareness of the vital role structural and critical support retaining walls have with regard to safety hazaards and maintaining property stability. Provide information to residential and commercial property owners about the need for retaining wall engineering and the necessity of following city and county regulations within the State of Georgia.
Homeowners in Georgia spend hundreds of millions of dollars each year on retaining wall replacement projects. Only twenty-eight percent of all replacement retaining walls are issued permits which close with the inspection stamps. More than half of all replacement retaining walls are built with inadequate or no standards at all. When replacement retaining walls fail without building permits, the property owner assumes all liability and is responsible for property damage cost.
Our mission is to inform property owners that legal recourse is attained through building permits and site inspections based upon a retaining wall engineer’s plan. Reputable Georgia based retaining wall contractors assist property owners with engineering plans and other regulation compliance paperwork.
Membership Requirements
Members must be a licensed retaining wall contractor within the State of Georgia with at least ten years of experience.
Members meet annually to discuss solutions to problems encountered on retaining wall construction and replacement projects. Members assist local municipalities with retaining wall code and regulation improvement.
